The GIIS KL Auditorium was filled with energy and inspiration as the Cambridge Year 3 students successfully conducted a meaningful morning assembly. The event was dedicated to celebrating the remarkable life and achievements of Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, one of Malaysia's most respected medical professionals and one of the first Malay women to qualify as a doctor. The assembly aimed to raise awareness of her incredible journey and inspire the young audience to contribute positively to society.

The Year 3 students took the stage to confidently introduce Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah, highlighting her pioneering contributions to public health, women's welfare, and community service. They eloquently shared how her dedication played a vital role in supporting the nation's development. To further deepen the audience's understanding and appreciation of her legacy, the presentation included an engaging short video showcasing her lifelong achievements.

Beyond its historical and biographical focus, the assembly was deeply rooted in core educational values, seamlessly aligning with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The presentations highlighted SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by reflecting on her medical work, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through her firm belief in lifelong learning, SDG 5 (Gender Equality) as she continues to inspire young girls to pursue their dreams, and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by showcasing her dedication to uplifting families and communities.

The event also served as a brilliant platform for holistic student growth, embodying the GIIS 9 Gems framework. Under the Visual and Performing Arts gem, students used creative presentations to express their ideas confidently. Their active participation fostered the Skill Development gem by sharpening their communication, public speaking, and performance skills, while simultaneously building teamwork, creativity, and coordination. Furthermore, the responsibility of putting together the assembly contributed significantly to the Personality Development gem, helping the young participants build self-expression, responsibility, and a deep respect for others. It was a proud morning for the Year 3 cohort, leaving the audience both educated and deeply inspired.
